VALERIE BIRKHOFF
I create expressive figurative sculptures. My clay sculptures often include other materials such as; wire, nails, beads, or epoxy resin. Cutting to expose their smooth insides, adding extra materials, and choosing various finishes creates abstraction and adds to the story of each piece.

DEBORAH BRIDGES
Deborah established a career in bronze classical figuration, then developed a line of cement garden sculpture that is currently being carried in art galleries across the U.S. These days Deborah is creating thought provoking ceramic figurative sculpture, teaching advanced sculpture, and running a studio that includes two apprentices.

STEPHANIE SCHRIVER
My whimsical slab clay sculptures are inspired by interesting people I meet and wonderful animals ranging in size from nine feet to twelve inches. I maintained a commercial studio for ten years in the Tannery Arts Center in Santa Cruz, CA before relocating to Nevada City. I'm a resident ceramic artist at As If Studios in Grass Valley creating there and in my home studio in Nevada City.

ROBERT BENNETT
Robert Bennett is an artist and engineer living in Grass Valley, California. His sculptures strive to capture energy and emotion in a frozen moment. He is also working on a series of paintings of futuristic views through a monochrome lens. He guest-teaches sculpture at a local elementary school, and he has provided illustrations and sculptures for a number of local start-up companies.

DAN GOBERT
Dan Gobert is a self taught stone sculptor working with local river rock and slab remnants.

SOLOMON BASSOFF / DOMENICA MOTTARELLA
Faducci was developed in 2002 by the combined exploration of Solomon Bassoff and Domenica Mottarella. Their whimsical emotive sculptures have received enthusiastic acclaim and have been acquired for public art installations and private collections. Their creative interests are sparked by nature and influenced by the wildlife that surrounds their home in the Sierra foothills. They are experienced at creating artwork that celebrates the natural environment, while delighting and inspiring the viewer. They have accomplished this goal with installations at the Woodland Park Zoo in Seattle, WA; Redding, CA; Natomas, CA; the Northwest Library in Oklahoma City; and most recently in Sunnyvale, CA.

MARK OLDLAND
I’ve been creating sculptural and functional art full time since 1993. I tend to play with the relations between animate and inanimate a good percentage of the time. My medium is primarily metal with glass, stone and wood introduced on occasion.

MATT PARKHURST
Anything metal. I'm available for large or small commission and have several examples in Truckee. Specializing in kinetic sculpture.

GREG ZIRBEL
Truckee has a true folk artist that builds fully functional replicas of historical landmarks into birdhouses and bird feeders. Greg Zirbel has been building whimsical replicas of historical landmarks out of discarded historical lumber since 1992. Unique, custom, well-built, documented, and signed birdhouses and bird feeders are fabulous pieces of art preserving history in a little way. Happy Birding!

TROY CORLISS
Working in the public realm, I have come to understand the ability of art to transform our relationship to our physical environment by evoking a sense of emotional-curiosity, beauty, whimsy and/or a desire for additional investigation. I’ve had the pleasure to serve on several community engaged, architectural design team projects throughout my career and in each case, the collaborative values expressed through the project team becomes a driving force in design development. Public art is the portal within our built environment through which we may discover a common sense of identity and connection with our physical surroundings.

AMANDA PAOLETTI
Amanda’s current works focus around a series entitled “Figurative Trees”. The works, in her words, “explore narratives - and the human form as vessel and vehicle, a hosting of energy, emotion and self”. She describes her exploration as “an intentional blurring of distinctions between interior and exterior, story and truth”.

BILL JUHL
A wood artist practicing the traditional art of woodturning creating wooden bowls, sculptures and useful items of wood on a lathe. Creates aesthetic vessels intended for display and also utility pieces for daily use. Primarily works with native Nevada County hardwoods.
