What is the Nevada County Artist Directory?

Our artist directory is a professional directory open to all artists living or working in Nevada County. Unique in California as the only rural county home to two state-designated California Cultural Districts—Truckee Cultural District and Grass Valley-Nevada City Cultural District—it recognizes that creativity extends beyond these districts to every corner of our mountain home.

Our directory highlights Nevada County as the premier arts destination for art buyers in the Sierra Nevada foothills and Truckee-Tahoe region, and home to some of the best talent in Northern California.

IMAGE PERMISSONS REQUEST

INTENDED USE : Use of your submitted IMAGE is limited to its publication on Nevada County Arts Council's website ARTIST-DIRECTORY.ORG for the non-profit purpose of promoting the artwork and the artist to the public, and providing arts education to the public. Artist to maintain all rights to the image, and may request its removal from the publication at any time. I certify that I am the copyright holder of the image submitted and approve its publication in the online NCAC Artist Directory.

Membership is not required to participate in the Directory, but encouraged.
Nevada County Arts Council is here to support the working artists of Nevada County. We very much hope you will become a member. Your membership is tax-deductible and makes it possible for us to support you.
While inclusion in the Artist Directory does not require membership, Nevada County Arts Council may request this in the future.

Artists must be 18+ and live and / or work in Nevada County, California.
Artists must be professionally active in their discipline and responsive to inquiries from the public.
First step is to fill out the digital form linked above.
We will need one 300 dpi JPG image. It can be your art, your logo, or your headshot. It will be cropped to square. You must own the rights to the image you provide.
We need your working web address to link to. It can be your Website, a Facebook business page dedicated to your art, or an Instagram page dedicated to your art.
We ask first that you fill out and submit the digital form above.
After receiving that, we will contact you by email to request the image that will accompany your profile.
There is no direct upload from the website.
No. Nevada County Arts Council exists to promote and sustain the visual, literary, and performing arts of Nevada County in order to advance the cultural, social and economic life of our community. We love our artists and want them to profit from our support!
No. Emails, physical addresses, phone numbers, and other identifying information are not displayed. We link directly to your chosen web URL, where you control what information is shared.
Remember, eligibility to participate in the directory depends upon being resident in, or working in, Nevada County.
No. We only publish the profile text you submit with your application form. [It should not contain any contact information.] We publish a hyperlink to your chosen web address.
The contact information on the form is so we can reach you regarding your listing. It is never shared with third parties.
You may make a separate submission for a different section of the Directory. If, for example, you are both a musician and a sculptor, you can create two separate profiles.
The profile text and image provided must be unique for each submission.

The Artist Directory is promoted by Nevada County Arts Council on its website, through all its social media channels, and through its many active roles in the arts community. We run regular focus features on artists in our newsletters, and encourage linking to arts organizations and venues in the county.
Artists are strongly encouraged to promote themselves and their art through sharing the directory, and to support other local artists in their endeavors. Together, we will grow our reputation as a premier destination across all disciplines! Please share and spread the word.
Physical location, email, and phone numbers are not part of the Artist Directory. Providing up-to-date contact information is something you do through your own website.
